Banding |
|
|
|
Banding is a printing
defect characterized by light or dark lines in an image in the direction
of the printing. In the case of inkjet imaging it may be caused by a
jet or printhead that is not properly aligned, inoperative, or incorrectly
indexed. The primary cause of inkjet printing problems is due to moisture
evaporating from the nozzles on the printhead, causing the pigments
and dyes to dry out and form a solid block of hardened mass that plugs
the microscopic ink passageways. Running the printer cleaning cycle
may solve the problem. Inkjet remanufacturers use tools such as Ultrasonic
Cleaner, or Universal Flush System to solve this problem. |
