Part One: Ink Jet Primer
Chapter Two:Industry Overview
The Ink Jet Explosion: More than 80 million ink jet printers are now in use worldwide. In 1997, two out of three printers sold will be ink jet printers, and consumers will spend more than $6 billion on ink jet cartridges. The potential for success in remanufacturing cartridges is genuine and enormous. The opportunity is here; the time is now. I know of no other business offering this kind of growth and profitability that can be started in your home for a modest investment.
There are whole ranges of new software applications being created because of the availability of new and exciting media to print on. Special glossy papers that produce photo-quality output for instance, allow the company producing trade show exhibit signage to use ink jet technology to produce dazzling color banners. Fiber based media opened ink jet printing to the apparel market, in which companies are now producing caps and T-shirts with ink jet printers.
These are just two examples of the forces driving the ink jet market. As the technology expands, so too will the ever-widening groups of users. This indeed is an exciting, growing industry, with unlimited potential for the entrepreneur looking for a business to start.
