Position Title: R & D – Design
Engineer
Position availability: Immediate
Salary Range: $40-55 k plus benefits
R-Jet Tek is looking for a design engineer for research and
development of new products and equipment for remanufacturing
ink jet printer cartridges.
The successful candidate must be
able to handle equipment development from concept to production
to post-sale technical support. Must have a solid understanding
of electrical and mechanical engineering concepts and be able
to oversee the development of electro-mechanical equipment for
use in an industrial environment.
This person must be willing
to gain a thorough understanding of the ink jet cartridge remanufacturing
process. The ultimate goal is to develop and prove out processes
and design and build tools and equipment that can and will produce
excellent results and can be sold to others in the ink jet cartridge
remanufacturing industry. The developed process requires creativity,
discipline, and one should not be concerned about getting their
hands dirty with ink and must be willing and able to set up tests
and help to build prototypes.
Position
In this position, the engineer will be:
- Designing improvements and upgrades to old machines by authoring
engineering change orders.
- Developing equipment based on research, customer feedback,
and their personal experiences.
- Providing technical support to end-users and manufacturing.
- Participate/oversee/manage technical support department
who support customers
- Supervising engineering staff including a CAD designer and
outside engineering- support.
Experience/Education/Skills Sought:
- Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility and
recent experience in a broad range of production/manufacturing
functions involving complex electro-mechanical products for
industrial applications.
- B.S. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent computer skills especially Excel, Word, and Solidworks.
- Machine shop experience is a plus.
- Experience in the area
of process development, including experience designing experiments
to test hypothesis, and being able to write technical reports
using a solid understanding of statistics
- Strong electrical
background, especially PLC programming and basic machine
wiring.
- Ability to learn quickly and be self directed.
- CAD ability,
specifically Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrated ability
to consistently produce and deliver products on time and
within budget.
