R-Jet Tek is pleased to announce the release of its Snap N Fill 45 for manually refilling the Hewlett-Packard 51645 cartridge. The company developed the product more than a year ago but held off releasing it until the printers that use the 45 were more widely used in homes.
"We expect this item will be a big hit with people that fill their own cartridges," said Mike Warner of R-Jet Tek. "The Snap N Fill 45 fills the cartridge through the printhead so it isn't necessary to remove and replace the existing ball in the cartridge. It takes just over a minute to fill the cartridge with 40cc of ink."
Filling is accomplished by filling 40cc of ink in the syringe, inserting the empty cartridge in the Snap N Fill cradle and slowly dispensing the ink into the cartridge. When using this method, the cartridge tends to not leak ink as so often happens when the ball is removed from the fill hole during the filling process. Also, because the pressure inside the cartridge is not changed with ball plug removal, the cartridge doesn't leak out of the printhead after filling.
The company recently sent a Snap N Fill 45 to more than 50 customers that assemble and sell refill kits. "The feedback was very positive and initial orders for the new Snap N Fill 45 exceeded our expectations" said Warner.
The Snap N Fill 45 is available in a twin pack. Kit makers may purchase just the Snap N Fill cradle with hose but without the 60cc syringe in lots of 100. The sample Twin Packs will be available at Recharger Magazine's World Expo 2000.
