R-Jet Tek, the leader in affordable automated ink jet technology, introduces two new machines that represent its entry into the tri-chamber cartridge processing market. The CentraClean and the Fill & Prime, are engineered for the HP51641, C1823 and C6678 cartridges.
To clean and empty cartridges using the CentraClean, the operator simply inserts one cartridge into each of the four cradles, sets the timers and depresses the start switch. The operator can set all cycles, varying from a few seconds to several minutes. During the first phase of the operation, the cartridges spin at 1200 rpm, while water, followed by air, is pumped through the print heads. The onboard water heater — factory set at 140 degrees Fahrenheit — will heat water and most cleaning solutions. During the final phase, the cartridges spin at 2,000 rpm. After the cycle is complete, the cartridges are ready for the Fill & Prime.
The Fill & Prime comes standard with two cradles. Once the cartridge is ready to be filled, the operator places it into the cradle. This special cradle is equipped with encased needles that, when lowered into the cartridge, will release the ink just above the print head, helping to eliminate air bubbles. The precise amount of ink to be pumped into the cartridge is set using a timer on the machine.
The fill and prime time is about one minute. At the end of the fill cycle, the operator presses a toggle vacuum switch for a couple seconds to prime the print head. The operator then removes the cartridge, which is now ready for testing in a printer.
Using the CentraClean and Fill & Prime machines, the average rate for processing is 44 cartridges per hour.
