R-Jet Tek announced its newest inkjet cartridge processing machine, WorkStation 31. This machine is designed for customers who want one machine that will process all the popular black cartridges, plus the Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark and Canon tri-color ink cartridges. To accomplish this, R-Jet Tek combined the cleaning, emptying and filling features found in its popular WorkStation 6 and the vacuum and fill features of its Fill & Prime machine into one cabinet. An important feature is that each function continues to remain independent as it allows for processing black, color or both at the same time. The WorkStation 31 will increase productivity and contribute to higher profits, R-Jet Tek representatives said.
R-Jet Tek is recognized for developing “one-machine — many cartridges” machines. It is R-Jet Tek’s goal to market equipment that will accommodate and process many different cartridges by simply adding an inexpensive cartridge adapter (i.e., a cartridge cradle). The engineers at R-Jet Tek have again achieved this in the WorkStation 31. Therefore, with the basic machine, an operator can change the cradles as the need arises. R-Jet Tek offers cradles for all the popular HP, Lexmark and Canon integrated black and color cartridges.
The WorkStation 31 processes a foam-filled, tri-color cartridge by first creating a vacuum to remove air from the foam inside the cartridge. It then slowly pumps a precise amount of ink into the foam while the vacuum pressure is released and as the ink continues until the proper amount is dispensed. Using the WorkStation 31, an operator can process an HP 78 in around 60 seconds or an HP 57 in 25 seconds.
An important function with all of the R-Jet Tek’s WorkStations, including the new WorkStation 31, is the cleaning station for black cartridges. A special system heats the water to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and pumps it through the cartridge print head, wetting and cleaning the dried ink. Cartridges are then emptied using the vacuum station before being filled. The full cycle includes approximately 30 seconds cleaning, 30 seconds emptying and 30 to 45 seconds filling. This allows an operator to process more than 60 black cartridges per hour and up to 50 color cartridges per hour. (Actual production will vary depending on each individual operator’s experience.) The new WorkStation 31 will be on display at Recharger Magazine’s World Expo in Las Vegas, Sept. 17-19.
