R-Jet Tek, an inkjet technology solutions leader, announced replacement microprocessor chips for the HP 14, 10 and 11 cartridges are now available.
The chips will enable remanufacturers to produce cartridges that perform up to the specs of OEM consumables. In the past, remanufacturers had to use a workaround when refilling cartridges that use chips to monitor ink reserves. This procedure, however, often resulted in the print head running out of ink and burning out, rendering the cartridge defective. The aftermarket chips are designed to perform much like the originals and, although they are for one-time use and cannot be reset, fill a significant void in the inkjet cartridge remanufacturing process.
"These chips provide an affordable solution for remanufacturers as more and more OEMs move to chip-enhanced cartridges," said CEO Steve Johnson. "We also believe it is good for the environment because refilling capability means fewer cartridges ending up in landfills after only one use."
