HP Envy Printers - Carefully Read Installation Messages

When you or your customer installs an HP Envy Printer look closely at the section that asks if you will allow HP to monitor your internet connection and automatically update your printer firmware.  We suggest clicking NO on both of these.  If you decided to change the setting you will need to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

Be sure also to disable the HP Cartridge Protection which if checked will disable your cartridges from being refilled and reused.  If this happens and your customer wants to use refilled cartridges follow these steps:  1. Click the START button and then click DEVICES and PRINTERS. 2. Find your HP printer in the list and double- click it to open the settings page.  3.  Find the HP Printer Assistant tab and double click it.  4.  Click the text for Estimated Ink Levels under the heading of SHOPPING RESOURCES.  This will open the HP Toolbox window.  5.  Click the tab for CARTRIDGE PROTECTION.  6.  Click the radio button next to the DISABLE HP CARTRIDGE PROTECTION. 7.  Click SAVE SETTINGS button to save your new setting.  Then close the window.  8.  You may need to removed and reinstall the cartridges for them to be recognized properly
